Matthieu Chane

Principal Level Designer

Matthieu is a Level Designer with over 10 years of experience in his field. He started creating his own mods out of existing games, from an explosive vigilante racing total conversion mod for Battlefield 1942 to his persistent CRPG online world in Neverwinter Nights 2. These projects helped Matthieu build connections and get his start in the games industry, first with an internship at Ubisoft Far Cry 2, then hopping companies and building work experience on smaller projects such as Tim's Burton Alice in Wonderland and Dreamworks: How to train your dragon.

He then re-joined the Ubisoft and has since been a valuable contributor on major titles such as Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Assassin's Creed Unity, Watch Dogs 2, Star Link: Battle of Atlas, and Far Cry 6.

Passionate, creative, and technical, his dedication to quality had him entrusted with the critical parts of projects, such as player on-boarding, E3 demos, vertical slice prototypes, tooling cell, and other dedicated strike teams.

Matthieu has wide content creation experiences, from PvP and Co-op multiplayer, open world and linear mission-based games, RPG, flight sims and racing games, Matthieu never lacks ideas or ways to push the limits of a project.

Matthieu is now currently helping on a new IP at NetEase Montreal.

 

Level Design Mentorship

This mentorship includes 5 hours of one-on one training, custom tailored to suit the mentees specific needs. We will build a development plan together in order to level-up your skills and help achieve your goals.

We will cover various aspects of Level Design, from reference gathering, 2D planning, design principles, pacing and player flow, scripting, problem solving and putting it all together into a cohesive package.

The mentorship is designed to help break through plateaus, build confidence, increase technical aptitude, and provide a clear path of continued growth and success.
