Mahreen Fatima

Senior Environment Artist

Mahreen Fatima is a Senior Environment Artist with years of experience working in the games industry. After graduating from SCAD where she studied Game Development, she moved to Seattle to pursue her dream of living in a place that looked like a page from National Geographic. There, she had the opportunity to work at Amazon and Oculus as a 3D Artist on various R&D projects where she had the opportunity to create photorealistic assets and work with scan data. She then went on to start her career in the game industry as a World Artist at 343 Industries on Halo Infinite, focusing on world art for organic and natural spaces for the campaign.  

Throughout her career in games, Mahreen focused on level art and worldbuilding and appreciates any opportunity to tell a story with environments. She is now working at Blizzard on Diablo IV as a Senior Environment Artist where she continues to focus on level art while working on personal projects to expand her skills and artistic eye.  

In recent years, Mahreen has been focusing on giving back and uplifting aspiring game developers by mentoring through various programs such as Code Coven and teaching at CGMA. She hopes to have the opportunity to help more people through Skill Tree.

 

Environment Art Mentorship

This mentorship includes 5 hours of one-on one training, custom tailored to suit what the mentee wants to learn. We will build a custom development plan together in order to level-up your skills and help achieve your goals.

We will focus on creating an Environment with strong art direction, composition, and storytelling through developing your skills in the Environment Level Art pipeline from planning, scoping and reference gathering, worldbuilding and level art, terrain workflows, art direction for environment art, lighting, scene polishing, and final render techniques.

The mentorship is designed to help deepen your eye for detail, increase artistic aptitude and understanding of how to apply art direction, hone your problem-solving skills, build confidence, and provide a clear path of continued growth and success in your Environment Art career.
