“It's no exaggeration at all to say that the time I spent learning from Emile was transformative.”

I worked with Emile for a period spanning 6 years, everything from sitting beside him and collaborating literally minute-to-minute, to reporting to him in more of an arm's length configuration.  Regardless of how often we interacted, I learned something from Emile every day.  Sometimes it was a direct "teaching moment", and sometimes it was more subtle.  He taught me both the nuts and bolts of the various positions I held, but also that being a good leader could be identical to being a good person.
